Technology Enabled Care (SCQF level 7) PDA

What is special about this course?

This course has been designed and developed to support Scotland's National Digital Health and Care Strategy and workforce education around technology enabled care. It would be of interest to those who are new to technology enabled care as well as those who have experience within the field. It is specifically designed to enable you to develop or advance your knowledge, skills and abilities in this ever-changing field of practice. 

Technology enabled care is used to describe a range of care and support options available via digital technology, telephone, mobile, broadband and video-conferencing, to support people in their home and with professionals at a distance (NES, 2018).

The course also provides the opportunity for you to develop underpinning knowledge for the National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Health and Social Care. It does not provide automatic certification of skills and is dependent on the information produced by you.

Entry requirements

• SCQF Level 5 Communications, but consideration will be given for relevant work experience
• You should have good communication skills, both written and oral, evidenced by the achievement of a communication unit at SCQF Level 5
• Alternatively, your communication skills could be evidenced by an employer's reference, or by the process of application and/or pre-course interview
• You should also be in a work situation that allows you to demonstrate the evidence requirements for this course through real or simulated work activities
