Session outline

Meta Skills are being introduced to all Modern Apprenticeship frameworks and assessors and lecturers need to have an understanding of how to explain them to apprentices, record their progress and ultimately assess them.

This re-fresher workshop is for all assessors and lecturers who support the apprentices in the following sectors: Engineering, Hospitality, Aquaculture, Agriculture and Horticulture. These frameworks have recently been revised and now have a mandatory unit on Meta Skills. This means that you have to assess the apprentice on their ability to understand the skills, discuss and reflect and articulate their skills development.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to introduce and discuss Meta skills with the apprentice.
  • Understand what materials and resources are available to support the apprentice
  • Gain confidence in how to assess the evidence created by the apprentice
