Biography

Danielle Woods' clinical background for 19.5 years was working as a senior nurse in a local acute NHS Trust, 14 of those years working in the Accident and Emergency department and 5.5 years as the Trust’s Lead Nurse for Dementia. In 2018,  Danielle moved into academia undertaking a full-time Nurse Lecturer post at the University of Bradford’s School of Nursing and Health Care Leadership. In 2021, she relocated to the Highlands and joined the University of Highlands and Islands within the same role. Danielle is currently the Programme Lead for the BSc Nursing Undergraduate Programme responsible for the operation, monitoring and ongoing development of the UG programme. In December 2024 Danielle was promoted to Senior Lecturer. In support of maintaining her clinical credibility, Danielle works at a local Minor Injuries /Out of Hours unit as a Bank Nurse. This role involves assessment, treatment, management of patients via the NHS hub, 111 referrals or walk ins presenting with a range of acute medical/surgical conditions and/or minor illness and injuries.
