Biography
Kathryn Marshall graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in July 2019 with first class honours. She qualified as an optometrist in April 2021 due a slightly lengthier pre-registration year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since qualifying, Kathryn has worked in both multiple and independent community optometry practices and now works in independent practices in Fife. While working in community practice Kathryn has achieved her independent prescribing qualification as well as undertaken post graduate training in myopia control.
Kathryn has previously lectured and supervised students in clinical skills at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Kathryn is a current member of faculty for the STEP programme run by Johnson and Johnson where she teaches undergraduate, pre-registration and newly qualified optometrists. She is also a College of Optometrists Assessor for the Scheme for Registration for pre-registration optometrists.
Kathryn joined UHI in August of 2024 as a lecturer.
In her spare time she is also a part of Girlguiding and enjoys playing the cello!
