Student Plays Key Role in UNESCO City of Craft Rebrand
UHI Perth is proud to celebrate the creative achievements of one of its BA (Hons) Visual Communication and Design students, who played a central role in the rebranding of Perth’s UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Art designation.
The project, delivered as part of a live industry brief, offered students the opportunity to engage with a real-world initiative that highlights the region’s rich cultural identity and creative potential. Lucas Graham, contributed significantly to the visual identity and storytelling of the rebrand, showcasing their talent, professionalism, and dedication.
“We are incredibly proud of Lucas’s contribution to the rebranding of Perth’s UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Art,” said Yunior Aguiar Perdomo, Programme Leader at UHI Perth. “This initiative allowed them to apply their creative skills in a professional setting and contribute meaningfully to the cultural narrative of Perth and Kinross.”
The Visual Communication and Design programme at UHI Perth is built around student-centred learning, with a strong emphasis on live briefs, industry collaborations, and interdisciplinary projects. “It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Perth UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Art,” added Lecturer Jennifer Lapsley. “The team’s guidance and support throughout the research, ideation, and development stages were invaluable. Their openness enriched the learning experience and helped bring the final presentations to life.”
