Applying to UCAS

If you are applying to a degree or a PGDE, you will apply through UCAS. 

When to apply

The key dates of when to apply, when applying to start your course in September 2026 are:

  • 2 September 2025 is when you can apply to UCAS
  • 14 January 2026 is the equal consideration deadline, if you apply by this deadline, universities are guaranteed to read your application
  • 26 February to 1 July 2026 is UCAS Extra. If you haven't got any offers, you can apply for another course
  • 2 July 2026 clearing opens. You can apply direct to clearing if you are not holding any offers or have not yet applied to university. When submitting your application you can now upload supporting documents for Clearing 2026

When will I hear back?

  • If you have applied by 14 January 2026, you will receive a decision from us by 13 May 2026
  • If you have applied between 14 January and 30 June 2026, you will receive a decision from us by 15 July 2026

Clearing

Clearing opens 2 July 2026 and is the way of applying for a university course if:

  • You are not holding any offers
  • You didn't meet the conditions of your offer
  • You are applying after Tuesday 30 June 2026
