Biography

Darryl's clinical nursing background is in peri-operative care. Darryl studied nursing at UHI EO, graduating in 2023 with a Distinction. Darryl was awarded Student of the Year in recognition of his professionalism and commitment balancing his full-time nursing studies with his wider status as an advocate (and well-known performer) in the LGBTQIA+ community. He brings with him decades of lived experience in caring for people with complex additional support needs, including his younger brother whom he grew up caring for.
